Your data, in plain English.

Qwish exists because skill data should be trustworthy. That starts with how we handle yours. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Overview

Qwish Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Qwish", "we") operates a skill intelligence platform where students take assessments and receive a standardized Qwish Score. This policy applies to qwish.in, the Qwish mobile app, and any institutional dashboards we provide.

We follow the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we apply them consistently across regions.

Plain English summary We collect what we need to score you fairly, store it securely, and never sell it. You can see, export, or delete your data at any time.

Data we collect

Account information

Your name, email, institution, year, and the role you signed up under (student, faculty, recruiter).

Assessment data

Your responses, the time you took, device information used for proctoring, and the resulting score breakdown across domains.

Usage data

Pages visited, features used, and performance metrics — used to improve the product. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Optional profile data

Anything you choose to add to your profile to make it visible to recruiters (resume, projects, links).

How we use it

  • To compute your Qwish Score and the percentile breakdown that goes with it.
  • To show you to recruiters and institutions you've explicitly opted in to.
  • To improve our scoring model, in aggregated form, after removing personally identifying signals.
  • To send you product updates and important account notifications. Marketing email is opt-in.

We do not use your assessment responses to train any external model.

Who we share with

We share data only with:

  • Your institution, if you signed up through them — limited to the dashboards they're entitled to.
  • Recruiters you opt in to — they only see what your visibility settings allow.
  • Sub-processors who help us run the service (hosting, email delivery, error monitoring). A full list is on our Trust page.

We never sell personal data. We do not share data with third-party advertisers.

Where data lives

Primary data is stored in AWS Asia-Pacific (Mumbai) region. Encrypted backups are kept in a secondary region within India.

All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). See our Security page for the technical details.

How long we keep it

  • Active accounts: data retained for as long as the account is active.
  • Inactive accounts: account data is automatically anonymized after 24 months of inactivity.
  • Deleted accounts: data is purged within 30 days, except where legally required to retain (e.g. tax records).

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Access a full export of your data via Settings → Privacy.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Restrict how visible your profile is to recruiters or institutions.
  • Withdraw consent for any optional processing.

Email privacy@qwish.in to exercise any of these. We respond within 7 working days.

Users under 18

Students between 14 and 18 may use Qwish through an institutional partner that has parental consent on file. We do not knowingly market Qwish to anyone under 14.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we'll email you and post a notice on the homepage at least 14 days before it takes effect. Minor edits (typos, clarifications) we log in the changelog at the top of this page.
